Additional information

Bleeding is a common problem associated with peptic ulcers. This can be profuse and may require transfusion, or gradual, leading to iron deficiency. Taking blood from a person at risk of bleeding will reduce their ability to compensate for blood loss and may lead to treatment that would not otherwise have been needed.

Reason for change:
Total gastrectomy is no longer a reason for withdrawal. Additional links have been added together with 'Additional Information'.
