About JPAC

The Joint Professional Advisory Committee (JPAC) has two core functions: it is an advisory committee to the UK Blood and Tissue Services (UKBTS), and it prepares detailed guidelines for their use.

The UKBTS may choose to deviate from JPAC guidelines, but any such deviation should be substantiated and well documented.

Our guidelines aim to be evidence based as far as possible and are reviewed regularly. We take account of relevant Recommendations and Directives from European organisations such as the Council of Europe and the European Union.
