Definition/s

In this context, sex is defined as vaginal, oral or anal sex with or without a condom/protective.

Obligatory

Must not donate.

Discretionary

If 3 months or more has elapsed since the donor last received money or drugs for sex, accept.

Additional information

This guidance presumes that a validated NAT test for HIV, HBV and HCV is negative; if this test is stopped for any reason, the guidance will change.

If received injectable drugs of addiction for sex, see Addiction and drug abuse as a 12-month deferral may apply.
