Essential information

Obligatory

Must not donate if:

1. Causes excessive bleeding or bruising and could be transmitted by stem cells.
2. Has thromboctocytosis.

• Immune thrombocytopenia
• Immune thrombocytopenia

Additional information

Maternal platelet counts in excess of 500×10⁹/L should be repeated. If found to be persistently raised, the mother should not be accepted and referred for investigation.
